THE MARKETPLACE

In 1945 the king and queen ordered that Ronda's public places be respected and honoured. They also ordered that all houses and fences around the city be destroyed, even though the city was growing rapidly on the other side of the Old Bridge in the area below the Marketplace, in a neighbourhood that came to be known as the Bridge.
